Default Does your drink fall?

Hi all,

I seem to have one BIG gripe with my RX300, the cup holders are too shallow, and my water bottles and coffee cups tend to fall out of those little 'arms' that holds them in place. I guess the cupholders are not 'deep' enough and tip over when I take come corners, etc.

What's your experience with them.

Cheers.

Default Starbucks coffee cup

I have found so far that I can use a stainless steel Starbucks coffee mug (the tall one) in the top cupholder and it doesn't move. (I experimented with it filled with water, not coffee.) I guess the rubber pad on the bottom keeps it from moving. The top cupholder's arms are actually higher than the ones inside the tray, although the compartment would help keep the cup from tipping. So now, I've moved onto the coffee in the mug and whenever I feel it might tip, I hold it with my elbow. But it's been fine so far. I'm thinking, for my peace of mind, that I might make some kind of rigid "sleeve" to put the cup in. My dad's pretty resourceful in that area. But I won't do that yet since the cup hasn't moved at all when I drive.

I know your gripe about the cupholder, though. My Camry had great cupholders. I think if I didn't love the car in other ways, I wouldn't have bought it, just because of the cupholders. It's a daily inconvenience that turns into a big sore.

I think the cup holders in all lexus models (including the RX) are built for normal people. ......I can never biggie my drink unless i expect to spill all over the interior. A regular 8 oz can fits right?

Default Saw a neat holder at Office Depot

I saw a stainless steel sleeve for soda cans at Office Depot today. Thought about getting it but I don't drink canned drinks so....It seems like it would hold the can better than without it. Just a thought....

The cupholders in the first compartment are adjustable. The top portion has an "arm" that swings in based on the size of your drink. This is only the 2 cupholders that are located inside the first compartment. The two on top with that flip up do not do this.

Hi all,

Well, I have one of those Starbucks coffee cup ( mug ) with the rubber base, however in the first lower tray with the swing arm, the cup still seem to wanna tip over, so there goes my coffee.

The second higher cup holders are of really no good value anymore, either. As a matter of fact, the damn RX is a waste of time as far as cup holders go.

Guess i'm a bit fustrated becasue this is a prestigeous automobile and my water bottle & coffee cup always tips over! And like Hopeful said, his Camry had better cupholders, and I second that, because that is the exact vheicle I had before the RX! GRRRRR!~

I didn't expect this from this vehicle.

Oh well.

To pile on here, the cup holders in the RX300 are terrible, anyone could design better for height, tightness, etc. Pretty simple stuff here for a so-called luxury car. My drinks tip frequently and I have to remember to grab them on light turns, aweful!

The coin holder on the left dash isn't any better, cheap piece of plastic that squeaks on mine.
