Green circle light around ignition

Is this supposed to always stay on? I just bought a used one and this light is always on.

i wouldnt mind having it on all the time. its kinda a nice touch. However it shouldn't be on when the car is locked (obviously)

Not just locked, but the weight (occupancy) sensor indicates some one is sitting on the seat.

You're wrong, it's on when driver a door open, it helps at night so you can put a key in ignition when a door close a light off, I have 2002 RX300 coach edition, I am not so sure other year but I think they are all the same,

If light is always on must be something wrong, it will turn off when driver door close .
