This just started on my '99 RX. Sitting in the car, with the key in the ignition, and all doors verified closed, the door chime keeps going, even in the accessory position. When I crank it up, the incessant chiming stops, but it still chimes once every minute or so while running, and driving. Tried the key in the driver's door to lock and unlock, but did not change anything. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Strange. Could be an intermittent door jamb switch? Does the dome light stay on when it's chiming?

YES. Thanks for asking that question. I just went out to the garage and found that the dome light was on, even though key was out of the ignition. If I leave the key in the ignition...which I usually do...door chime keeps going, and light stays on, even though all doors are closed. I have now turned the dome light off.

UPDATE: I disconnected the negative cable to the battery, and left it off overnight. I just reconnected the cable, and now everything is back to normal. Go figure. I wonder if this disconnection procedure should be a regular "maintenance" item, say every six months or so?

No, she's all stock...except for a bluetooth adapter (Grom) that I put in after removing the CD player behind the glove compartment. That's been installed for about three months.

How much was your GROM? I need one of those because I’ve been using a crappy tape to 3.5mm player.

I also bought the HD radio converter, but have not installed it yet. It comes with a fiber blade antenna, about 14" long, and I have not figured a good way to mount it yet.

In my experience with a chime once every minute ... it's been the back hatch was not shut properly. Open and Close the hatch again, and that resolved it for me.
