Not an upgrade
These ***** go well with the drive mode selector but it's rather cheaper feeling compared to the ML ***** which are weightier and solid. Tactile I prefer the ML. I might switch back just due to the feel.
The reason they're gray is because the is how the ***** are on ML components.

I switched them out also. Lasted about 10 minutes. I couldn't get enough "grab" on the non ML *****. They were too slick and didn't protrude enough for my tastes. Someone told me the ML ***** are ceramic. Don't know if it's true or not but to me they have a better tactile feel. Almost like they are bead blasted.
Of course, to each their own. The non ML do match the selector **** better than the ML.
