Default 1000 Mile Checkup?

I am a new RC F owner and have found an online manual that prescribes a stop by a Lexus dealership for a checkup right around the first 1000 miles of driving. However, I did not see anything like this in the manuals I received with my RC F. I only have a sticker indicating my first two free oil changes at 5K and 10K miles.

Do any of you know anything about a 1000 mile checkup??

I was told to take mine back in on/before the 1K mark, mainly to set the personalized settings if I want anything changed.

The official 2 free services are the 1K-mile check-up (no oil change) and ONE oil change at 5K miles. And it's mentioned on the service booklet; look for it. Other dealers might offer different things, but Lexus would only pay for those 2. Hope this helps.

Long time Lexus owners will remember when the two (2) complimentary service visits were scheduled at 1000 miles for minor checks and adjustments and the second at 5K for both conventional LOF and the only free tire rotation.

With the advent of Synthetic Oil the resulting schedule has the first visit at 5K and includes the checks/adjustments and the first tire rotation. At 10K miles you get the synthetic LOF and a second tire rotation.

A quick review of the Service Recommendations for the RC-F, GS-F and 2013 IS-F do indicate the "old"
schedule of 1K and 5K even though they all have Synthetic Oil. Severe Duty anyone?

It all depends. I took mine in for the 1k check and they changed the oil but called it a 5k check. The service advisor said "get that garage queen outdoors and drive it!".

I was told the same - first 2 are free, 5k and 10k. I didn't go in for my 1k cause everything was perfectly fine with mines. After my 5k service they just said everything's good, see you back at 10k - which is what I'm actually going in for this Saturday.

On a somewhat related note - has anyone here had any offers for a maintenance contract/warranty? If so, how much were they charging? I can't for the life of me remember if I was offered a warranty where it includes oil changes.

I considered the 1,000 mile check as an opportunity to have a few things customized to my liking. I had my headlights adjusted, the one-touch indicator changed to 5 blinks, and I also had a technology rep sit with me to answer a few questions. As far as maintenance, I received 6 complimentary oil changes from my dealership. All I had to do was mention the maintenance provided by a certain competitor and they quickly addressed my concern.

Is your car a Lease or did you Buy it? I'm pretty sure that would make a Difference

Not really, I've purchased and leased a few cars prior to the F and always got all kinds of complimentary goods/services. It does help to have a good relationship with the dealer as well.

Yep, i'm Sure that Definitely would make a BIG Difference also you'd think ALL Dealerships would be so Complimentary, but that's Definitely NOT the case
