Default First service - 6 months/5000 miles

as you know, the first service 6 months or 5000 miles is free from lexus.

i don't think my car will have 5000 miles in 6 months. Should I just take it anyway for service at 6 months old ?

Take it whenever you want to take it in.

My car has 3100 miles and I have changed the oil twice already.

some people says you can take it in 5K miles.......

For me, I would take it in 6 months.....just to be "safe"......

Take it in. About the only thing they will do is change the oil/filter and give it a look see to see if anything is out of sorts. But it is worth it for the first service, plus it's FREE.

Isn't is so obvious? He enjoys buying oil It's certainly not because he thinks changing his oil every month is necessary it any way, shape, or form.

yes..he truly must just enjoy buying oil.

He may just be driving the car very little and changing the oil every 6 months regardless of mileage, per the maintenance manual.

My car is 1 year old this month and has 4,600 miles. I intend to have the oil changed (for the second time) to keep it on the time interval. I follow factory recommendations until I have a good reason not to when it comes to service. The only thing I truly skip are the "inspections" - I just pay for the actual service/replacement items.

I follow the time recommendation as I don't drive enough to go by mileage. I've had my car for 8 months and just hit 6000km, which is like 3700 miles. I'll be at about 4500 miles when the car is one year old. If I went by the mileage recommendation I'd be changing it every 14 months.

Mine is my daily driver. Picked it up on 2/23/07, drove to Harrisburg and Carlisle from NEPA, and I only under 2,100 miles on it.
