The Germans turbo/supercharge. I don't know why people pretend that's a remarkable achievement. Forced induction = laziness, there is nothing innovative or amazing about it. Slap a turbocharger or supercharger on an engine and you will get more power/torque.

BTW, the 1990 LS400 had 250 hp.
1990 420SEL had 228 hp.
In 1990, BMW only had a 735i with 208 hp, then they introduce the 740i with a 282 hp 4.0 V8 in 1992, probably because of the arrival of the LS400.
Back then in the days of LS400 and GS400, Lexus do have more hp then the Euros

Now that I think about it, even the 1st gen GS300 had 225 hp from that 3.0L 2JZ, the same era E34 535i only had 208 hp from it's 3.5L Inline-6.

The best car article is guessing at the 465ps. Theyre just going off the RC-F running the same engine. So take a look at the red RC-F in the best car article, then look at the rear or the GT500 race car and you can see the little flares on the rear bumper just below the rear lights;

The Tesla Model S with 445 lb-ft of torque @ 0 rpm, that is a game changer.
Seriously, it's like Lexus has 2 brains that are not talking to each other. One side has the sublime chassis that can handle the hp( 4th Gen GS L10 platform from Lexus Japan) and one side has the powertrain ( 650hp powerplant/drivetrain from Lexus TMG). Just put these 2 together for crying out loud.....
Unless Lexus is playing its cards close to the chest and will only unveil a new powerplant over and above the RC-F's NA V8 closer to the time of unveiling the GS-F. It doesn't want to show its hand too early for fear that the Germans will tune-up their engines in a mid-life refresh just to play one-up-man-ship on that 650hp number...
