So it'll be called the Track Pad. More info on how it works would be appreciated!
Actually not sure what it will be called, I used the term Track Pad because that's what it is similar to one on say a MacBook Pro - at least that's the latest from Lexus Product Council
Happy to announce the RC and NX will be the first Lexus's to offer a Track Pad!!
Happy Friday!!
interestingly enough, while i am used to them, well known fact of computer world is that a lot more people like using a mouse than a track pad. Astonishing number of people hate trackpad and have to connect mouse to their laptop in order to use it so lets hope this works well for them.
they will probably implement gestures and such, so lets see what happens.

Funny thing about Remote Touch, it works, but I honestly prefer iDrive at least for the way it selects items. I'm hoping this track pad will be similar to an iPhone
I wish these car companies would go back to touchscreen. You don't see Tesla using remote controls.
Gimme a nice smooth capacitive touch screen any day.
touch screens suck imo.
- you have to take your eyes off the road
- sunlight makes them impossible to see
- smudges on screen are annoying
- you have to reach for it
audi and bmw just tacked on touch functions to their existing mmi/idrive. if lexus can beat them to the market with a real 100% touch only interface, it would set the standard. the key imo is to mimic smartphone menu navigation without actually touching the screen and without using cursors.

Tesla is the only company with a 17" screen and while cool it is awkward to look at, mind you I am a fan of it. Also understand since the Tesla is electric they can design the cabin completely different than one with ICE,
