I just got a performance chip for my is 250 from a company called powertune. I was not expecting much when I bought it and it's just ok, no crazy increase in HP but it does give it more pep. If you want a little more kick then I'd recommend it but don't expect to gain a ton of hp. The company also put together reviews on their site from customers. Some just talking about it and some doing 0-60 tests with and without it. powertune engine tuning module performance chip review

How much did you pay for it? IdI like to see some Dyno numbers as well. Its been a while since I've looked into tuning anything but gains up to 10Hp are usually considered standard discrepancies and not true gains. Custom tunes on larger naturally aspirated engines like a LS2 usually don't net more than 30HP so given that knowledge I wouldn't have much hope for something like a 2.5l direct fuel inj V6. Chassis improvements would probably be a better "investment".

Why not just wait to get rr racing tune that will be out soon? Great company and gains I would guess would be 10-20 whp/tq

I heard performance chips dont work for is250's, but i need some feedback. Also if anyone that has a performance chip installed can tell me what kind they have, thanks!
not anymore, there are a lot of options for performance ecu chips now for the 2nd gen is250 I have a 2010 is250 and there are lots of chips that claim to add 60-90hp plugged into ecu, Some say it voids warranty but I baught this car used so I’m not worried about that but there are some that say they do not void warranty
