i have a 98 gs3 and i know what you mean...but in answer to your question, its going to cost at least 4k 2 boost your car and to do it right... so in my opinion...i would sell and buy a 400.

I'm struggling with a little of the same problem, since my car is a daily driver and I have a go fast car in the garage it's not as big of a deal to me. The cat-back exhaust for our cars bring on too much back pressure so you get noise but no real gains. Swapping is price prohibitive, turbo and an SRT are loud, so all you can really do is improve your suspension and wheels and just look damn good driving your ride.

For what it's worth, the best combination IMO outside of boosting is an intake (I have an Injen), torque converter, and exhaust (RMM or Borla). You'll get 8-12 HP, some "in your seat" feel with better power transfer, and at least you'll feel a little better getting passed all those big V8's

A GTE swap can be had for about the same amount of money that a GOOD NA-T turbo kit can cost. Keep it and boost it.

Sell your GS300 and get a Honda Civic.

JK.

A NA-T with a single turbo kit on the 2jz-ge would be beasty....I say do it. Would probably cost you around 5gs to get a custom turbo kit fabricated and installed. You won't think you're slow anymore. I say no to the no2 idea because I think you might blow your tranny.

not even close to true. A good NA-T kit will run you about 4500. A completed GTE VVTi swap will run you well over 6000, IF you can get your hands on the motor. Then you have to rip apart that motor and make sure everything is good and clean it out, rebuild necessary parts, another few hundred. Go from JDM twins to USDM twins and injectors, there's another grand. OR, go from JDM twins to big single, another 4-5k on top for a good setup. Not to mention building the tranny much past 350hp, fuel system upgrades past 400hp, etc. etc.

i spray 75 wet on a 99 gs3 with 114k+ on the clock no problems with the tranny slipping or motor making funny noises. i have sprayed 125 wet, that scared me the tranny held gear but didn't really want to shift i don't suggest that much. everything is as smooth as it was at 60k when i purchased the car.
