negative. you were not misinformed.

technically with real Military grade AN for aircraft you do not need to use Teflon... they are compression fittings or something like that.

OOPS,maybe he meant just to teflon the threads from the A.N. fittings to the NON-A.N. threads. no biggie i can easily undo the teflon

alright so i started working on this but only got so far as i couldn't remove the OEM tranny fittings from the tranny while it's installed....well i didn't have the correct tool to do this. any tips/thoughts/suggested tools to remove these while the tranny is still installed?

ALSO if anyone needs to know the line I'm pointing to in the picture is the line pumping fluid from the tranny to the OEM cooler, if your gonna hook up a external remote mount filter you need to know which one is which....

Sir what is pictured above is a engine oil cooler.....hence the filter adapter.....if you are using the cooler for a tranny you don't need half of what is pictured....sounds like you were severly misinformed

yeah what is pictured above (my picture on post # 158) DEF isnt a engine oil cooler (where do you see a filter adaptor?) so maybe its just YOU dont know what your talking about or your just not clarifying well enough WHICH picture you mean. its my alternator and my sway bar with lines run to drain my OEM lines coming from the transmission...although you ARE right about one thing, i DONT need half of it, its kind of overkill for my next project which WILL need it

well as i said you DONT know what your talking about because im replacing the lines completely from the tranny to my remote mount filter, than to my external cooler than back to the tranny im not even using those lines im replacing them with AN lines which i had said SEVERAL times had you bothered to read this thread and not just look at pictures

i already have them but i dont need them so i returned them....the ONLY places that are going to OEM fittings are where the AN fittings are being installed into the transmission with the OEM O-RING that even the OEM fittings use. So only two fittings have teflon on them (since they ARE going from AN fittins to the OEM threading) and i will talk to the shop once more to see if i need it still, otherwise i have everything i need just need to remove the old fittings which is proving to be a PITA on the installed tranny

You won't see this if indeed I have been added to your ignore list but I would encourage anyone interested in knowing how all of this got started to look at my original post. I simply suggested that he was misinformed.....thats not saying he is stupid or dumb and didnt insinuate anything other than maybe he had been told incorrectly....his following post said...in caps....that I did not know what I was talking about....

After all of this...look at his last post....than look at pic in post 158...is he not pointing at what appears to be the rubber line attached to the hard lines? I will let you all be the judge....good luck in your project my friend.

I btw....I love the vid link....classic!

No reason to get butt hurt guys. This is just an online forum.

Apologize and move on before this legendary thread gets closed.
