Picked up my 2022 350 FSport yesterday and I’m trying to figure out something. When reading texts on CarPlay it doesn’t mute music that is playing, so I’m unable to hear it read the text. Any ideas??
I think this is one of the first generation issues that needs to be cleared up by the connected solutions team that lexus hired to do this whole interface. I also am annoyed by the fact that whenever I activate siri during a song, it does not mute the song or bring the noise level down for me to hear what siri is saying. (This however is not an issue when you activate hey lexus voice command, it properly lowers the background noise down) I'm sure this will be addressed and patched in the future.

This seems like a problem with your particular phone. I’ve used CarPlay in the previous Gen NX, ES, Merc GLE, and multiple BMWs and this issue has never occurred. CarPlay would straight up pause my song through Spotify to listen to a text.
It’s not a problem with my phone… I traded in a 2019 NX for the 2022 and didn’t have this problem before. It does slightly lower the music volume on the right side of the vehicle and raises the volume of Siri/Carolst on the left side, but not sufficiently to hear what Siri is saying. It does lower the volume when the Lexus interface is used.

Re-Pair your phone with the car and see if that solves the issue. Or bring it in to the dealer to see if restoring the system to factory settings will help.

have you find a resolution to this problem yet? I am very frustrated with this also. In my case neither Siri nor the Lexus assistant will mute the music that’s playing and I can’t communicate with them.
I called Lexus support and they told me it was a hardware problem and go to my dealer. I think it is a software/firmware issue with the head unit but I can’t get through two that team to get them to acknowledge the problem.
Anyone else having this problem? Anyone have any suggestions on this?

I concur with you. I have the same issues as described above - i’m confident they will be solved with a push update in the future.
I have the same issue as well. In my previous car, an Audi, the music volume dropped noticeably, making it easier to hear what Siri was saying. In my NX, there is very little drop in music volume.
I travel a lot for work, so I often rent cars. In most cars, the music volume drops and Siri can be clearly heard, but I have rented a few cars with the same issue. I assume this is on Lexus to fix from their end...if they decide it's worth fixing.
I'd also like to have full access to my Apple Music library when driving. I could access the library alphabetically in my Audi, and also in some rental cars. In the NX, and some other cars, all I can see is recent additions and playlists when I'm driving. I assume this is a choice Lexus has made in their implementation of CarPlay.
