Exclamation Uneven Heating Steering Wheel

I noticed that the heat on my 2023 NX350 steering wheel is not well distributed.
In fact, it is much warmer on the bottom part rather than the top half where we should normally keep our hands (like 10 and 2 o’clock was the recommended posture I think).

Is this the case for all NX350s or is it a defect only on mine?

I experience the same thing and just assumed it was a flaw I’d have to live with. Will be curious about the replies here!

Thanks @BWag2023, although it is not good news to have to live with that flaw.
By the way, it seems that the hand position recommendation has changed over time but there is still little heat at that position:

Actually mine is cooler on the bottom and perfect where it is supposed to be.

Sam with 2023 RX350h. It is ONLY at "10 to 2" position which is good, but it is mild and slow. I have to consider the loads on every electric function ... lots of them.

Somewhat, perhaps, maybeish (apparently I have commitment issues). I've had my steering wheel set to "Auto" almost since day 1 (with a +1 in the customize options) and in this mode most of the time the wheel doesn't get and stay hot, I can feel it warming up initially if a bit uneven and then it just settles on a comfortably moderate temp that's mostly consistent (after 10 min or so). I've had some cars where the top part of the steering wheel and where the spokes attach wasn't heated at all so it was icy cold in spots and hot in others, so while I do notice some variations in the NX initially, its not a lot (at least in auto). In fact, I sometimes find the top part warmer and when my hands are cold I will put them there, but then after a couple minutes the bottom feels warmer and I put my hands down, and I kind of repeat this process 2 or 3 times until the wheel and my hands have achieved a sort of equilibrium. I've just assumed my hands draw off the heat faster than the heating element can replace it so making other parts feel warmer after a minute or two? Anyway, this winter has been very mild with records falling almost every week or two it seems, so I suppose I haven't really needed to push it.

Same. I am guessing it is intentional to get you to keep your hands down there. Some say it is safer if the airbag deploys.

I'm told that has changed due to the way airbags deploy, we are now to keep our hands at 4 and 8 position. DMV California tests have changed to support this new position.

Well, it looks like there’s some variation between vehicles. 😕 My previous cars were pretty even all around the steering wheel and I prefer that. 💁‍♂️ That’s a Lexus flaw I guess.
