Hi all, I was driving my wife's 2023 NX350 today and all of a sudden the car horn goes on and stays on solid. I stopped the car and turned it off and noticed that the dashboard says something about the rear seat. I had my work bag on it. so I removed. Went to start the car but it won't start. it still says something wrong with rear seat. The car horn eventually stopped and I was able to turn on the car and drive away. I don't think the car horn coming on was because of the bag on the rear seat. Anyone heard of this happening? I had the key fob and the key fob for the engine immobilizer on my jacket pocket. Is it possible that somehow one of the buttons was pressed while driving?
The rear seat warning was likely just triggered by opening the rear door before driving away. Its supposed to help you not forget your baby in the back seat after forgetting the daycare drop off after a sleepless night of crying (that is a setting that can be turned off)
I agree, the horn issue is likely separate. I've not had that issue on my NX, but I did have something similar on a Toyota I had. Middle of the night raining hard the horn just suddenly starts blasting away. After almost 20 minutes of continuous blaring with me getting out of bed to see what's going on, I was 2 minutes away from disconnecting the battery and the horn just stopped. Permanently as it seems, it was completely cooked. Drive thru any big puddles lately?
