I wonder if this new version starts uploading all your LSS data to Lexus for analysis (driver inputs, camera data, vehicle data, driving locations, etc.). I've seen some comments about this new feature on the Lexus reddit forums on other models. This is, I imagine, similar to what Tesla has been doing for years now to use recorded ordinary driver data to tune and improve their nav and autopilot software. If this is the same thing, it can be turned off, but I think it uses automatic opt in so if you are a big privacy buff or regularly trigger LSS actions you may want to check settings afterwards to not share your LSS data if you are not so inclined to do so.
Anyway, I'm not sure but interested to hear what people see after the update if this is indeed the case.
Seems like the last update where the US folks get the update first and then Canada gets it later.
They already upload data to the Lexus servers already - when you bought your car, there is a sticker that says that your activities are uploaded to the Lexus Servers.
This is the new setting I was talking about that is apparently hitting the NX
External Vehicle Video Capture. Owners of certain vehicles equipped with Lexus Safety System+ (Version 3.0 or later) may also opt-in to participate in External Vehicle Video Capture, which uses sensors and/or image data from the vehicle's exterior to help improve automated driving operations and safety features for Lexus vehicles, as well as to develop high-definition maps. If you opt-in, the External Vehicle Video Capture feature may use your Vehicle Health Data, your vehicle's Location Data, and Exterior Image Data
This was odd. I went to settings and it said my software is up to date. Then when I started driving a Software Update message appeared but wouldn't let me execute it because I was driving. When I came home I checked settings again--same answer. Then I checked my Lexus App and it said I'm up to date. NX350h 2024 if that helps.

This looks like it's coming from the mobile app. Maybe this is a US only thing? Will have to monitor the data privacy section on the mobile app to see if it shows up.
Other than the fancy energy flow graphics and rearranging of the safety feature tiles I don’t see much change. It still doesn’t remember settings in the navi, always defaults to straight overhead and fully zoomed out. At least it connected to carplay on the first try….Quite sad seeing as they worked on this for a year? I’d be fired from my job if I accomplished this little in a year …..
I check the app first, no update, then go to the car, have to click on Software update twice for it to appear. First update for me since I got the car in last April, 2023 NX450h+.
