After wrestling with the app, new passwords etc. I was finally able to reactivate the 2022 NX350 so it could be used normally. The remaining problem is that the smartcard wallet key stopped functioning with the software update and I can't re-enable it.
You probably just need to delete/remove/uninstall/deactivate it and then add a new and a fresh one after if it is even possible

The Wallet key fob is programmed by the dealer or factory.. You shouldn't lose this functionality from the app update. Try a fresh battery, if that doesn't work it's a warranty issue.
I wish it was also coming to Android, but the article says its Apple Carplay only. This has been my chief complaint with the infotainment system on Android Auto. It takes me 5 presses on different icons to get back to the native system so I can manipulate USB or radio. Talk about distracted driving!

I too wish that it was coming to Android Auto. However, with regards to your elongated "journey" back to the native Lexus system from AA, I find that this can be shortened somewhat by using the Hey Lexus voice command "Hey Lexus, show the map". This will instantly return you to the native system from where you can move on to your desired endpoint (e.g. USB or radio). Furthermore, to get back to AA from native use the voice command "Hey Lexus, launch Android Auto".
I feel there are more android auto connection issues after this update. Both wire and wireless. Anyone have similar experience?
System volume resets itself to max about twice a week.. gets stuck with park brake on ...can't move forward or reverse....need to power cycle car to clear...excessive braking on cruise....all modes.. .lane tracking drives car off the road regularly....downshift from 4 to 3 is at the wrong setpoint...causes the car to jump and bump....requires a manual backing off of the brakes if you don't want the nose to dive...excessive assisted braking force overall....main head unit randomly reboots about once a week while driving this pos...frequent drops in communication. While driving in android auto use....reconnect when returning to vehicle requires power cycle of ignition.....overall a big fail.....its hard to believe this is the best lexus has to offer....after my 10k service I am dumping Lexus.

You can press and hold the volume button to reset the Lexus Infotainment system. No need to power off the car to reconnect. If you don't like the car, as you said, you can go get something else. Sometimes the communication with the head unit could be your phone or a defective head unit as well. Very hard to determine what is the issue just with a few words.
Picked up my NX450h+ today, it has the permanent dock of Lexus icons with an option to full screen CarPlay.
First question "Is this an upgrade from version 2050 which has been around since March or April 2023 ?"
Is the full screen CarPlay able to display a home type split screen or is it like the current NXs (e.g. 2022) where CarPlay only displays a single screen at a time not split into multiple screens ?

YMMV,

Appears that new vehicles are on 2070. We picked up a 2025 and 2070 or 2170 (I forget) is installed from the factory.
As for Carplay split screen, do you mean where it shows your map, music and calendar of Carplay or do you mean half Carplay on the screen and half factory things on the screen? It has the former, but not the latter.
