Level 2 Charger
Hey guys new to the forum but just ordered a 2024 NX 450h+ expected to get here by the ned of August! We want to do a level 2 charger and am curious what people have done or recommend for that. I had a 30amp 240 V circuit wired in my garage already but after reading it sounds like you really need a 40amp circuit to get the maximize charge speeds the car can do. One of the reasons we went with this particular car is we have 4 kids and do two shifts of daily driving (morning and afternoon) so will want to charge as much as possible in between those two shifts.
Using the 80% rule, you should only pull 24A from that circuit at 240V which is 5.76kW. After considering some losses in the EVSE you will be charging the car at about 80% its maximum.
So my recommendation would be to get an EVSE that supports at least 40A and can be configured to be 30A for now. Try it out with your existing plug and if you want a bit of extra charging speed, pay an electrician to upgrade your circuit.
It's also not terrible to run out of EV charge and run your engine once in a while. It's a hybrid, not an EV.

I have installed a 50A instead of 40A as the 450h+ draws 32A and a bit of future proof for the next one.
Going from 12 hours lvl1 to 2.5 hours is a huge time saving
I have installed this: https://grizzl-e.com/product-category/canada/

Question:
Home power source
Charging voltage: AC 120 V
Charging current: 12 A
Estimated charging time: Approximately 12 hours
VERSUS
AC charger (vehicles with 7 kW onboard traction battery charger*)
Charging voltage: AC 240 V Charging current: 32 A
Estimated charging time: Approximately 2 hours 30 minutes
Does one use more power than the other? Which is cheaper? Just curious. Would you use the 120V for 12 hours or the 240V for 2.5 hours?

All else being equal, the 240 volt circuit would consume about 11% more total energy, per charge.
But the 120 volt circuit charge time is 400% longer.
But if you don't EVER expect to need to charge quickly, I'd go with 120.
I just know that the first time I want to GO, but have to wait 12 hours, I'ma wish I had the 240.
I went with the 240V. I have the ChargePoint and hardwired it to the Electric Panel. I also purchased and connected the 60 Amp version. My electric provider is a Co-Op Company so they do note offer any lower amounts for EV charging overnight. So I pay the same rate 24/7/365 so I charge it up as soon as I get home that way it's ready to go.But the 120 volt circuit charge time is 400% longer.
