Default Where did all of the veteran CL'ers go

So I have notice a huge influx of new members lately, but I am not seeing any of the veterans post. Are you guys still here? I liked the threads of yesteryear where people were actually spending the "moo la" on their cars.

I think as the years move on, the guys with big bucks move up the chart on the year of car they are modding..... I might be going back in time as there is a 1991 300zxTT that keeps calling my name.

I was thinking the same thing not long ago, a lot of us are still around but don't post nearly as much as the newbies, it's cool sometimes watching them get excited doing mods we done a long time ago.

Its cool seeing the original guys that started in CL back in 01-02. When i look at the year they joined I'm amazed after 6-7 years that there still going strong with modding and such.. ITs even better meeting them because there knowledge is priceless..

I'd like to see more posts by the veterans..

I am by no means a "veteran," but I definitely don't post as much as I used to. I still sign on to CL every night and read the posts, and if there's something I can add that will help out a newbie, I'll go ahead and post. Otherwise, I seem to be just doing a lot of reading lately.

I have been around since 02 and I post a lot.
I can see that one day I will stop. After a while, everything gets worn and you have to put it away. Until that day comes, I still enjoy it....just not as much.

I think a lot of the veterans are modded out Not much more to do to their cars. I wish I was one of them though. Yes the board has changed alot. I was looking at the thread about the hottest 2GS and many of the members whose cars are in there have moved on. But there are alot of quality members with nicely modded GSs taking their place

You know what I have a few comments on this and I hope that these comments don't get taken out of context. Ok so here it goes I have been a member here on CL for probably three or four years. There is hardly a day that goes by that I do not log on to CL. Not only has CL helped me take my car to another level but I have made friends that I never would have had an opportunity to make if it were not for the CL community. There are many indicators within the forums and I will address this one in particular because I spend a lot of time here that some of the "veterans" do not or are not willing to embrace some of the newbies. The 2GS used to be a high priced status symbol for it's owners but as the 2GS has gotten older it has become affordable for younger people who may not have ever been able to touch one at full price. I see the posts from the newbies some still in their teens that post up looking for advice on rims and mods. Of course guys chime in right away suggesting high dollar mods and when it becomes obvious that the person may not be able to afford the best of the best for their GS then they are shunned called Ghetto or a Ricer. It leaves a bad taste in your mouth as a newbie if you feel like others are looking down on you. The 2GS will always be a great car to mod and no one can help the fact that others who may not have a certain income level can now pull up to a stop light and have the same kind of car that you have. But to me CL is much more than that. We need the veterans to stick around and show newbies the way and not become frustrated when they see "kids" infiltrating the once untouchable world of the 2GS. Hey I may be way off base here but I think there is at least some truth to my thoughts.

Not by any means an old timer but I have been here for almost 2 years this August. Post help when I can, usually a reader. I really enjoy seeing the what the rest of the world is doing their GS's, there are so few here in Alaska.
