Question Remote Start with the Key Fob

I just tested the remote start with the key fob on my 2023 NX350 after reading about it on the net; it works. 🙂

I couldn’t find that feature in the manual though; isn’t that a bit weird? 💁‍♂️

Cool. Where did you find this? For such a tech laden car the manual (for tech instructions) is often poorly written or excludes important features like this one.

I googled it and found a couple of « sources ». The one copied in this thread is from a London (Ontario) dealership. 💁‍♂️

Found this one attached as well.

Does the engine shut down after you open a door? I hate this on my 2017 ES350 with Push To Start ignition.

No, engine doesn’t shut down when you open the door. 🙂 They must’ve fixed that.

Great. Thx. Hopefully the US version is the same as the Canadian version.
I plan to have the Viper Alarm/Remote Start installed on my wife's incoming NX350h (arrive about 5-10 days). Have had the Viper alarm/RS system on our last 6 cars and the remote range is crazy long......

No it keeps running but you have to press the brake pedal and start button to be able to move with the car.

Thanks. Appreciate the feedback. That's great, just like my wife's old 08 RX, after remote started and door opened, she has to insert the physical key and step on the brake before driving off. Without inserting the physical key and presses on the drive, the engine shuts off.

Thanks for the post, interesting. I wonder if the reason its not in the manual is that its considered part of the subscription services. The PDF you posted seems to suggest even using the fob to remote start is also part of the subscription services. I wonder if it will still work once the initial subscription period expires?

The process seems a bit complex too, I would be halfway to destination by the time I did all those steps, but remote start isn't a biggie for me since my car is garaged and doesn't get below freezing.overnight.

I must admit that I don’t know if it’s tied to a subscription or not but I would tend to believe that it is not as it should be a “direct communication” between the fob and the vehicle. But I’m no expert. 🤷🏻‍♂️

And I agree with you about the complex process. 🙂 My cars are in the garage as well but I did use that function on previous cars when waiting at the grocery store cashier for example. The Acura fob was much better actually and even had a confirmation green LED (on the fob itself). 💁‍♂️
