When Lexus comes out with these darkened photos, somebody usually lightens the background to show the whole car.

which is interesting considering ES300h vs ES350 in the USA... this should not be any different. Maybe they dont expect high sales of NX in general for USA so 20% of the mix is too low for them to offer it with good price? Or maybe 2.0t will offer good enough mpg for US, negating the advantage of NX.

We will see in few months likely, I doubt they will give us full specs on NX come April :-)

the way the blue badge is and the headlights make it seem like this is the NX concept, not the production teaser

Agreed. I was excited about the teaser until I put it aligned with the concept. Things line up too perfectly.

I wonder what it'll be like in Australia.

We do get a reduction in the luxury car tax if vehicle fuel usage is below a certain level which the hybrid is almost certain to achieve. It's allowed the IS250 and IS300h prices to almost be identical now, with only a tiny premium on the hybrid as compared to the first hybrids which were significantly pricier than the equivalent petrol only engine.

BAD NEWS. There was a mistake in posting the Concept picture as a teaser. I knew it was too good to be true since the pics lined up too perfectly. Expect the single, more generic "base-IS" looking HID light as we saw in last month's leaked image. If miracles do happen and similar to the RC, the top-line model or F-Sport might have the triple "L" LED lights from the concept. Finger's crossed.

Basically they are saying that since the NXh will be close to $50K dealers won't stock more than one or two (at least initially, but they are not planning on the h being a big seller). The ES vs ESh pricing is a bit easier to swallow

" they are not planning on the h being a big seller...." Where did this come from? Why build it then? Cafe concerns?

I find that puzzling because that is what I would want. I don't need a turbo anything. Also, why wouldn't the CT be offered in a turbo if that is the case instead of just a hybrid?

what i dont understand is why the difference between pricing of ES hybrid and supposedly NX hybrid... it will have some tech as IS300h, so little bit more expensive than ESh, but nothing else.

IMO this would appear to be pricing speculated for the European Market. I will believe it when I see it.

By all means take what I say with a grain of salt, it is 1st hand information so things can get lost in translation or easily subject to change. We are however talking about the US market though, LPC talks about pricing and features for the North American market. They're not going to discuss Europe plans when meeting with NA managers.

The CT was planned from inception as being a unique Hybrid nameplate under Lexus. It was never planned to have a non-hybrid variant.
