Default brake light on...

ok so when i break, the light goes on. and it'll stay on unless i'm almost at a complete stop or i accelerate. does that mean my e-brake is too tight or sumtin?

Peace out

nope, it means you are low on brake fluid... recommend checking brake pad lining thickness before just adding fluid...

e-brake does feel weak. doesn't hold it up at much. so just check the thickness of the break pad itself? thanks again mitsuguy. for this thread and my other thread. i'll be sure to just put all my problems in one next time. lol. thanks again!

Peace out

no problem...

the e-brake can be adjusted via a nut on the cable adjuster - it should be completely disengaged when lowered completely, and should be tight at 5-6 clicks up...

either way, get those brakes checked out and if they are ok, top off the brake fluid... check for fluid leaks at all hose connections as well - you could potentially be losing fluid there or, one of the calipers...

another reason could be the brake pads are wearing down causing the caliper piston to come out and leading to lower the brake fluid. Check for worn brake pads while you're down there checking for leaks. Also look at the fluid to see if it's a brownish color. If so you might have contaminants in the system.

I don't know if the SC have the same design as my GS but the parking brake pads in the GS are shoes, not the pads from the main brakes. If so you will have to pull the rotor off to see.
