Default Emeregency brake light comes on

Every once in a while my emergency brake light comes on when I am braking but it is not the emergency brake pedal that is causing it. The e-brake pedal doesn't have any unusual play in it and it activates the light when engaged but it doesn't seem like it is the switch on the pedal that is causing the problem. I haven't noticed any other braking issues either. Anyone deal with this before?

Have you checked your brake fluid level?

Parking brake might need to be adjusted. No big deal, I think.

As newgsman said. Check the brake fuild level. If that's low it will light up on the dash.

My SC did that before. Front brake pads were running low, so more fluid has to be used to depress the caliper.

brake pads low, brake fluid, or even poor brake fluid distribution (clog lines and such).

I had the same problem mostly in the winter months, I added brake fluid and it hasn't happened since.
