Default my cat caused engine oil to spill over the engine... how to clean up?

I was changing the oil this afternoon. I opened up the first bottle of Mobil 1
and turned to reach for the funnel. That's when I noticed my cat was
in the garage(doing a #2 in the litterbox) The funnel was hangning on the
wall just above the litterbox... My cat freaked and actually jumped on top
of the engine, causing me to drop the bottle of oil. At least 2/3 quart
of Mobil 1 got spilled...

The oil spilled all over the engine bay. I cleaned up as much as I could, but
there's still oil on the belts, pulleys, and a bunch of other places that I cannot
reach. I even tried Q-tips and was unable to reach those tiny spaces.

Do I need to get my engine steam-cleaned or should I just leave it alone?

For some reason... I was tempted to ExxonMobil to see if they have any
advice on oil spills.... (they did make the Mobil 1 oil that I was using...)

(PETA notice... fortunately, not a drop of oil got on my cat... )

Listen, I've washed my RX300 many times in the engine bay, https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx3...ate-parts.html and that goes for even belts. It will squeak a bit after you start it up, but you should be able to get the oil off. I'm not saying throw water on it, but at least with the belts and pulleys you should be able to clean that area up and then just let it dry a bit by itself.

I would just have the engine washed, make sure you go to a large place that knows what it's doing. Or you can easily due it yourself if you feel comfortable. Like Lexmex said, just be careful where you spray high pressure water.

That's what I do too. Any gunk around the intake plenum, I leave. Just too many crevices that water mixed with oil will not evaporate. The oil might attract dirt/grime but it's better than tar like goo from trying to wash it out.
