Default Brake fluid consumption?

Yesterday the brake warning light came on in my 13 350. I checked, and the fluid level in the madter cylinder was at the "min" line. I don't think I've ever had to had brake fluid in any car before. Seems to be Ok today, but I was wondering if other folks have had this happen? Of course if it happens again I'll have to check the brake system. Just wanted to check. Thanks.

Brake fluid level goes down as Brake Pads wear down, but shouldn't make a warning light come on. Refill the Brake reservoir and check for Brake Fluid Leaks. Check your brake pads too.

Hopefully none of the brake piston seals were damaged during the pad change.

Of course if it ny leakage from the master cylinder does not run out below the master cylinder, it gets sucked into the brake booster. It does not show anywhere that you would expect to see signs of a leak. again I'll have to check the brake system. Just wanted to check. Thanks.
Based on what you have ruled out it is a leak in the master cylinder which is most likely going into the brake booster and collecting there. That is why you cannot see the leak. Remove the brake booster you'll see the brake fluid collected in the booster. I reach this conclusion that you and others have ruled out the pads or Pistons, or break lines as the source of the leak.

Seems like an awfully new car to have the master cylinder leaking fluid into the booster.

Your car is a 2013. It should still be under factory warranty right? Just take it to the dealer and have them fix it if it is the master cylinder.

The brake light comes on when the brake fluid is low or the brake pads are critically low. It's weird you are getting a light if you just changed the pads. I highly doubt you'd be leaking break fluid though...

if you changed the pads recently, it is quite possible that when they pushed the brake piston back in, they removed some of the brake fluid and forgot to top it off...

this happened on my GS after a brake job... i drove home and the BRAKE light flashed at me... i checked the fluid and the reservoir was low...

fill up the Brake fluid, and see if it disappears again... if it does, then you have a leak... if it stays, most likely we had the same tech doing our brakes...

Interesting point. There has been no deterioration in boost or brake performance, but I will check as soon as I can. Thanks!
