Every couple of months the auto supply stores in my area usually advertise various synthetic oils on sale, or with mail-in rebates. Within the past 6 months I was able to purchase 2 cases of Valvoline full synthetic for 99 cents/quart after rebate (it retails for over $6.00/qt). My dealer wants $140 for an oil change and tire rotation - and DOESN'T use synthetic. He'll never see me for this service.

back in 2004 i had a 2002 sc430 and i went to bevery hills lexus and paid 140 for just oli change

~$30 for 6.5qts of oil and one filter kit. It costs me a 1/2 hour of my time but I have the satisfaction of knowing it was done by one the most caring professionals concerned with my Lexus (me).

wow, never took my ES and GX for an oil change to lexus dealer and didn't know they charge that much... i do my own oil change but mobil1 has gone up on their oils. i used to get 5qt mobil1 for under $20 at walmart but it's now $26 and filter went up a little too... so total cost is around $40+

If the oil change is around $50, I think its worth it at the dealer.

Your car get a light clean after an oil change. Or warranty if something stupid happen. Unless you're a perfect guy that doesn't make simple mistake.

Later when you decide to sale your car, there's a track record at dealer service for the potential buyer. That's extra brownie points!
