Quick quesiton about oil amount in 02 GS300

Default Quick quesiton about oil amount in 02 GS300

Can anyone tell me how much oil should be put in an 02 GS300. I have always put in 6 quarts but at my recent oil change I had lexus do it and I gave my dealer 6 quarts and he only used 5 1/2. Was I alway putting in to much oil?

I am sure in the owners manual it states to use 6.3 quarts of oil. Atleast that is what I put in the GS'

It said 5.9 in the manual. I don't know the dipstick looks fine in the morning. Maybe he didn't drain enought?

all 2jzge motors use 6.0
.1 going over is not going to hurt anything. sounds like the guy didnt replace his filter

I know he changed the filter because it was def turned a different way before they changed it. I guess I will wait till morning and then check it again. But you know what who cares the car is a company car that is going back in March and then I will get my new GS. Which I can't wait for, that car looks so good. I don't know why I get so crazy about a car that is't even mine.

I use about 5 1/3 quarts in mine. I find that will put the oil level right at the mid point of the dipstick. Since it doesn't burn any oil, I don't see why I need to add 6 full quarts. But I think anything between 5 and 6 quarts should be fine.

i wish i had a company car thats a lexus. where do u work ill work for them

Haha a house building company called Toll Brothers. You should check out the website maybe you can find somethin in your area. Its www.tollbrothers.com. It's a good company and the stock options beat the pay.

The stock has dropped considerably since July. I hoped you cashed some of your chips
