Hi: 2017 lx570. Found cig and p/outlet fuse under the driver side fuse box. Which one is good for dashcam? I pull out fuse from the cig and there still power at the front and second raw passenger 12v outlet.
thx
FYI, if you want constant power, get something that will turn off, if your batter voltage drop to a certain amount. I have a Thinkware U1000, which you can program to turn-off, if it detects your car battery drops to a designated voltage. If you don't have this type of settings, your dashcam will drain your battery until it's dead.
The hardwire kit come with a controller that can cut off the power if the battery voltage below the 11.9 v.
I try p / outlet , still No constant power.
Thx

there are several points on fuse block under the dash near the OBD port has the constant power, so as on OBD port. The easiest way is using the multimeter the find it, one or two of them from the bottom rows has the constant power if I remember correctly. You could use the fuse tap to get power there.
Besides hardwiring to B+ all the time, I believe there's also a secondary battery (kinna looks like a college text book size) that will provide power to the cam while vehicle is 'off', that should provide power to the cam for 72hrs if not more. When the vehicle is 'on', that battery will get charged. So this way it will not drain the car battery constantly.

I've never heard of a second battery...where is it located?
Or, are you talking about a battery that comes with the camera?
