Default Tom's Racing Throttle Control

Wondering if anybody has purchased this yet.If so does it help with the lag or does it just make it a bit faster. If nobody has I guess I'll be that guinea pig to get it. I'm hoping by getting this the lag we experience will go away.

Hey,

I've heard its pretty similar to the Apexi one but if you want the Toms specific one we can work something out for you!

Just curious, did the box help with the delay in acceleration after a quick stop? What I mean is that if you come to a brief stop, for example at a stop sign with no other traffic, or before turning right on red, there is a definite lag in acceleration that isn't there when you stop for more than about 2 seconds. It seems like it's programmed that way by design, so I'm just wondering of the Tom's box also eliminates that. Thanks.

man I cant fathom to tell you how much of a difference it is. the lagg your experiencing is definately turbo lagg I had driven the LS for a few months before I did the Tom's boost box so I immediately notice the difference.i drive on sport + manual mode and only thing I notice is there is a slight lagg when shifting, but it's very slight doesnt bother me too much the car is tank and it takes off very fast with that Tom's box. I remember prior to the box I would pedal to the metal and it would build up speed very slow you can feel those turbos spool up and the boost would kick in but with Tom's it's always there and very torquey feeling a whole different animal.

I question whether it's turbo lag or not. It doesn't happen if you stop for more than 2 seconds. Only during quick stops, or even when you don't stop at all but hard-break then step on the gas immediately. I would think that if it were turbo lag, it would happen even after sitting at a stoplight for 30 seconds.

I know exactly what your talking about as the boost helps with some of the turbo lag the rest is the drive by wire, that's why I just said might as well just get the throttle controller to help with that. If this works I will let you all know, my main hope is it gets rid of the delay when you floor it.

Is response way better or no different, as in no more lag.
