It doesn't really work, the only way to fix it and not have an issue occur again is to replace the interior. Other "fixes" will be nearly impossible to keep clean/nice and you can't touch them or they become compromised.

Maybe check with johnnyg66 as it's been well over a year since he first applied it. His Sticky Door Fix Review thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...ix-review.html

Wow thanks! That's disheartening. I definitely don't have the money to replace the dash.

Called Crown Lexus in Ontario,CA and asked the service manager about replacing the interior. Warranty was good up to 10 years after production. That was 2017 so, no can do. Oh well it didn't hurt to ask.

I’ve used it recently. Has turned out really good. Now, we can revisit this after the hot and humid DC summer.

I’ve applied mine 4 months ago, it works really well. But you’ll need to maintain it every year & avoid parking in the sun as much as possible. I’d recommend using the shades that comes with the car when it was purchased while parking in the sun. Also, using tint on the 4 windows really helps ( I think it should be UV resistant tint). My car was susceptible to this problem (10 years ownership) but I didn’t have it appear until recently (because I’ve always used the shades+ the 4 windows are tinted.) The problem occurred 6 months ago after I’ve taken my car to a local garage that left it in the sun for an entire month without the shade.

using the shades & tint is really effective since I’ve always parked in the sun due to my job but never had this problem ( BTW live in the Middle East where it could reach 122F+ in the summer and my car is Black).

I will agree if you use this product it will need reapply yearly or so. The sun really does not need to hit it just get HOT enough inside to make it act up again. I replaced my front and so the backs are the ones that get more or less ashy colored. Its a decent product but not the end all.

Yep. The only true fix is complete replacement with the updated parts since new old stock will have the same issues.

This is one of THE strongest reasons people on here recommend a 13+ vs a 07-12 since a full interior is 8k plus time to replace. Only reason I have a 07 is because it had a fully replaced interior put in right before I bought it

It sounds like some pre '13 cars had replacements done with the old style. Meaning, even if records show an interior swap by dealer, the problem could reoccur.

I'll make the time to reapply if I have to. The sun is going to cook the dash even with my tinted windows and a windshield blocker. Thanks for the info!

Sounds like you've lucked out. My car has been dealer maintained almost it's whole life and I find it strange the owner never took advantage of the campaign. For 8k you can buy a whole car. Just weird.

Not a promising fix with the parts...wow!

Holy smokes the heat there is warmer by 10 degrees. I also live in the desert here in SoCal I'll try it and maintain it to see what happens.

ZLX is the one that just used the same parts, ZLZ used completely different parts that are the same as a 13+

It took me 2 years to find a 460 that met my criteria, New interior in silver over grey with dark burl wood, New brake actuator, all new control arms, under 150 miles, zero dents or scratches (somewhat met this, had to correct a lot of little imperfections), all OE rims with zero damage or corrosion, OE glass (failed, windscreen is not OE), non upgrade sound, SWB, non air-suspension, non VGRS, no engine hesitation issue. Perfect headlights.

I never thought I would find one that matched what I wanted but I lucked into one. 10k otd when I got it.

Pic from when I corrected paint

Great information about ZLZ. I can only imagine how long it took to the right car. Glad you did.
