Default Sticky Door Fix Review

Back in May another member mentioned this product to help fix our dash pad issues. Now most of us have gone through the past 2 Lexus replacement programs and have had our interior replaced. On my early 07 the only parts not done have been the door. Since mine has the leather arm rest the only issue is the top portion of the door. The ZLZ program for me will not cover the doors since it was covered a few years ago.

This company is based in Australia so delivery is not real fast right now took 5 weeks. Anyway i set out today to give it a try. Going to the web site there are other makes and models that have the same issues and the kits are specific to your model. For the LS it will say Lexus Black. It comes with a cleaner product and sealer. If you try this on the dash itself you will most likely use the whole bottle. Prep is key here mask off as much as you can or you might have a big clean up if you are not careful. I masked off the wood trim and the tan leather closest to the trim.

It says to wait 30 mins between coats. How many coats depends on how bad your issue is so i did 4. I think the more coats the darker the end result. As you will see in my photos. Doing the job is very straight forward. It dries very fast so keep your brush strokes even. They give you two different size foam brushes. It came out looking good to me even with the darker tint.

The cost was around $50 with shipping. So if anyone is in the same boat this may be of help. It says to wait 2 weeks before you do any light cleaning and not to use any harsh cleaners stay with mild soap and water. I will follow up in a few weeks.

Before applying product.

Afterwards in the sun color difference.

Thanks. I am going to write the manufacture and ask them about the color. I am sure that it was that color after one coating. Its funny because it pours out of the bottle 100 percent black but it applies that gray color. It also says to allow up to 2 weeks to totally cure. It dries fast so you can touch it but don't apply any pressure because you could crack the coating. And you don't want it to peel or rub off.

In your case i think that your panel is not black like the factory black trim . Its more of a grey .

Yeah. That is the only option they give you. I think. I wrote the maker and sent a photo.

I heard back from the maker. They seem to think i ordered the wrong color. They asked for the code off the VIN. But my code is the same as the item i ordered. I sent it to them and they promised to help. So see what happens next.

Quick update. Have not heard back from the company yet. I sent them another request today. Anyways since its been very hot here gave me a good test and it passed. Normally just a few mins and the door tops turn tacky. With this product i saw no change it stayed dry and normal looking. So today i did the rear doors. If i ever hear back from sticky dash i will update again.

After 3 coats.

Quick Update. This stuff works like a champ. And i heard back from the company this week. They realized they are using the wrong color and are sending me out a new set. They have changed the web site as well. They said all i have to do is apply the new coat over the other one. So with shipping times probably a month from now before i get it.

Will report back again.

Well today my replacement bottles showed up. The color is called Lexus Brown. Out of the bottle is does look like muddy water. I redid the front top panels and it is a good match now to the dash. As you see from before the Lexus Black dried more grayish blue. The company sent me 3 bottles and updated their web site. So as you can see now the color looks more. normal.

stickydashfix appears to be a good product with a website that explains the problem and solution. For $40 plus shipping from Australia, I'd try it with confidence of Johnnyg66 experience.

Good Luck. It works good not a total solve. Just put on more layers than you think you will need. And mask off the rest.
