Default 'crafted line' question

Hi guys,
I am looking for my next LS (current owner on 2010 LS) and came across of "crafted line" ( F SPORT stitched on the seats) trim models from 2015, 2016 .....
What is so significant about those LS models ?
Are they worth the premium $ ?

Thank you,

IL

Hard to find them for sale. Even the base ls460 is a luxurious car. I'd be more concerned with service history.

I have one and I like it a lot. Only buy it if you're specifically looking for an F-Sport version, since the ride is so much different. As I recall, it's basically a preset set of options, special red/black seats, and contrasting door handles and mirrors.

Hi DerrickM,
How different is the ride ? Is engine tuned differently ?
How about the suspension ?

Thank you,

IL

The Crafted Line isn't any different from any other F-Sport as far as I know; although I believe all Crafted models have air suspension.

The difference between regular LS and F-Sport LS is huge though. The F-Sport has a much firmer suspension, and doesn't have the same cushy ride as the normal LS. (From what I've heard--I've only driven the F-Sport version).

@mcomer Hit it spot on with the differences and summary. I currently own one and can say it's absolutely been a blast to drive, especially on long road trips. Although, the same can be said about the non-crafted line F Sport. My two favorite features are the two-tone seats, and obsidian painted parts (door handles, wheels, and outside mirrors). With only 750 produced, it's quite rare to see as I've personally only seen my twin once since owning the vehicle.

Keep in mind, the RWD Crafted Line model does not have the heated steering wheel if you find that an important feature. Depending on the price premium, I would personally choose whichever vehicle had better vehicle maintenance history, appearance, etc.

Wish you the best in whichever trim you decide to pursue!

The question is if you put F-sport air struts on non F-sport car with air ride, does it make F-sport air suspension?

No since the car lacks the ECU modes for them.....unless it works like the paddle wheel swap does. Not sure unless someone has the parts to see what happens, it might just auto enable it.

I am talking just about suspension. The struts themselves have no electronics and are going to be managed by the non F-sport air-suspension module. I get it that steering is probably optimized differently and potentially ECU. Potentially, you can get F-sport stiffness by replacing the struts. It is going to be not cheap though.

I just bought one. I totally love it. Definitely unique but I love it. I might wrap the door handles white as I don’t love the black door handles. Credit to my man Pdxdan for that idea. I think everything else looks good though I fully acknowledge it’s a unique look and not everybody’s taste. Mine is extra cool in that it’s a 2015 with 8,300 miles. One owner. Took it to Lexus once a year or more so all service was done on time (not miles). I bought it at Lexus this week. To me for $45k I got a $100k car. I just need to add CarPlay. Plus the Lexus warranty is incredible. $3,775 for 5/60 coverage from Lexus.

Oh, I love the black mirrors and door handles on the white paint!
