Default WooHoo! New 2014 LS!!

OK. So this is crazy. I was looking for months. Searching for the perfect LS to replace my '06 LS. Then today I just got fed up and spent literally 5 minutes on Carvana and picked up a 2014 LS with 52K miles for 38K.

Hopefully the pickup will go smoothly and I'll post pictures next week.

Now I am excited about modding the interior for luxury. I'm one of those weird people that wants my luxury car to be quiet and comfortable and I don't car about how much performance I give up to achieve ultimate comfort!

Nothing to change really. The 460 is one of the quietest cars ever made, it's more silent at WOT than a Tesla at idle.

Congrats! But yeah, I'm not sure what kind of mods you could do to make it quieter unless there is something wrong with it. It's about as quiet as they come.

Thats good to know. My daughter has my old 430 which now has 170k miles and is almost as good as new still. Aside from the seat leather giving up the ghost recently.

I guess after I spend some time with it I’ll see what if anything I will do.

Congratulations. Looking forward to seeing the pictures. I love luxury also. I recall a friend stating the LS 460 does not have any “road feel.” I replied, “Road feel is highly over rated. If I want road feel I’ll get a go-cart!”

Best improvement you can make for quietness is a set of really quiet tires

I completely agree about tires. Many posts here about tire brands that are quiet and brands that are noisy.

That sounds like a good deal! I have a 2014 LS 460L with 34K miles on the clock. I know you'll really enjoy it.

Thank you and SO FAR... big props to Carvana for what has SO FAR been the best buying experience ever. I qualify it because I have not seen the car, haven't picked it up, etc. If the actual car is as clean in person as it looks without any hidden surprises, I will confirm those big props.

Yeah, I always get the Michelin MX4V (or something like that) or whatever Continental tire is made for quiet. They are expensive but a good tire make all the difference. What are the OEM? Michelin, right?

The OEM tires a Bridgestones, they are horrible IMO.

I also had MXM4s on mine when I got it, they had about 2/3 tread and I ditched them as soon as my PSAS4s got in, there is not much difference in noise at all but the car drives far better.

Get the Pirelli Cinturato P7 Plus II. Best tire for the car.

I'm looking also for a tire that is quiet and decent in snow. My car is awd. I bought it with some cheap uniroyal tires, they seem loud. Tell me abut your experience with P7 +ll

Thanks! I should note that in Miami, I never deal with snow so that's not a factor. But all of the "summer" tires I see seem to be performance focused rather than comfort and quiet focused. So I'll probably go with an all-season tire. I always factor brand new tires into the price of a used car because I also assume cheap Chinese rubber. So far I've been pleasantly surprised twice with good tires that have plenty of life left, but most of the time, I get new shoes right away.

And I also have about $3K budgeted for audio upgrades at the end of 2022. This one doesn't have the ML (which all of my 430s had) and I'll see if I can live with the stock stereo before I do anything. I like good audio, but at 54 years old my head banging days are mostly behind me.
