All things considered, I would prefer Michelin too, I was a Michelin snob for a long time but they just don't make a tire as soft and quiet as these tires right now.

I happen to use Michelin since they meet my performance goals, however other tires can and do beat them in various areas or end goals. If you prioritize NVH then they won't do as well as others.
Striker, Steve always provide great info his posts are helpful for many...
they are softer and quieter.... those parameters were important to him not to 80 percent of others that want the best quality , best value, best wet weather / ride/ handling tire. that is Michelin

the thread is getting to be a bore, buy what you please research what you want
one last thoughts I wouldn't be buying a cross climate Michelin in the graph above, I would be buying a primacy or grand touring tire that handles better like the mxm4 on my ls
it handles about 20% better than the p7 would, and I prefer a great ride and a great handling LS, not a floating ghost on the road
its kind of like a gasoline or oil thread, Steve is happy with Mobil 1 which is a great oil, I prefer Penzoil Platinum Ultra derived from natural gas, its cleaner, more efficient,
everyone has an opinion, let the readers research and buy what they feel makes sense to them.. as example who owns Pirelli, I don't want to support companies like that with all that is going on in the world , just my opinion and feelings.
happy new year cheers

The Michelin Primacy MXM4 are some of the floatiest numbest tires I have ever had . Thats what I have right now that is scary hydroplaning at 16k miles. The P7s are WAY better tires.

I have no problem with having opinions, but telling people the characteristics of a set of tires you have never owned and arguing about them with someone that has owned multiple sets of those tires doesn't provide any value to anybody. Give advice based on what you actually have had experience with. Notice, I didnt argue with Army of One did I?

The Cross Climate is a Grand Touring tire lol

Steve always being right about everything is more the issue, don't lecture people on their opinions. We disagree a lot I like Michelin, you like Pirelli, I like Pennzoil platinum ultra u like mobil 1, I like shell gasoline you say there. is no difference... I practice what I preach, try it some time

You haven't owned the tires we're talking about, yet you're telling everybody what their characteristics are. When you actually have first hand experience with what we're talking about, then you can be right. Right now...quite frankly you have no idea what you're talking about and sorry, I'm going to point that out. How weould we react to someone who has never had an LS460 coming in here and telling people why they shouldn't buy an LS460?

Yes, we are all aware that Pirelli is a Chinese owned company. Has nothing to do with the performance of the product. Thats your own hangup.

Not tense at all.

The crossclimates kick the crap out of the MXMs easily, I've have both on the same car and it's night and day handling wise and in snow it's laughable how bad the MXMs are in comparison.

The MXMs are horrible handling wise, try the Pilot sports next time or at least the crossclimates. If you like sharp handling stay well away from the MXMs

OK! So back to the point. I've had three days with the car. The pickup experience was amazing, if super goofy. They actually give you a coin. You walk up to a slot and drop the coin in. Then a massive robot platform rises up and your car comes down SPINNING. They put a bow on it and everything.

I haven't taken pictures yet because I wanted my mechanic to give it the "OK" before I spent any money on detailing and paint correction. And I am glad to say he gave it the "all clear" with the exception of a minor worn out bushing in the front. I seem to remember this is a thing with these, but I thought the problem was taken care of by the '14 model year. In any case, he said it was minor and I won't need to worry about it for years.

The interior is super clean and looks more like a 20K mile car than a 50K mile car. Some creases on the driver side seat bolster, and a crease on the center console armrest/cover. Same as my 430. Other than that, the paint is super clean, zero dents, no scuffs VERY NICE. The stereo is fantastic, the car fully integrated with my iphone (as much a non-apple car play car can) in less than two minutes, cheap *** Chinese tires, as predicted, and unfortunately, BRAND NEW all 5. So I can't justify ****canning 5 brand new shoes just yet.

Pictures coming after the detail. I may start a new thread since the tire talk really poured a bucket of cold water on the thread... and yes, I'm aware I started it. Now I'm going to go start a thread about cables on Audiokarma... BRB.

Yeah I love my P7 Plus 2 on my LS430. Smooth and quiet as hell. I have replace my front passenger wheel, caught a flat smh

I got Continental LS, and I had a chance to test those in winter storm while traveling to work and back, around 40 miles. I have no complains about tire performance in 2-5 inch snow and slush. AWD system (ECT Snow) made an impression on me. I used to have 2009 RAV4 AWD, but LS460 AWD is so much better. It could be due to more weight as well.
