LS460 Advice Please
Greetings all, I'm currently a (semi) happy 2016 Lexus NX 200t FSport with 40,000 miles owner. I've owned the car for a year having moved from a 2006 Acura TL (which I loved). With 186,000 miles on the clock I figured it was time to move on to a newer car with newer tech but I never fell in love with the NX 200t.
Plus, I'm not driving very much these days - only 7,000 miles in a year of ownership. My question is, The NX 200t is small and I'm a big guy plus the HP is not that impressive. I'm looking to sell and go to a 2007-2012 LS460 or LS460L. What are your opinions and are there things I should be looking out for? I will search the forums but wanted to kick off this conversation with the experts. Thanks in advance.

Good advice. I was in the 2010 range with 100,000 miles for $15k neighborhood. I'm not sure if a warranty applies. There's currently a 2007 460L for around $15k with 69,000 on it and all the bells and whistles. I've heard that brake actuators can go bad. Any other problem areas? I'll likely drive less than 10k a year - I live on an island.
DEFINITELY pay the extra and go 2014+. Its worth it for all the goodies. Invest in a Grom Vline2 and you're set for maps. Its cheaper than a one time map update from Lexus, and better because all following updates are free. it lets you use apple carplay/android auto, among many many other things.

If you’re set on the years 07-12, get an 11 or 12. Go to the Lexus Drivers Site and enter the vin. Check all service work done. Yes it’s possible things could go wrong. It’s also possible to find money on the street. I’ve not had problems with any of my LS’s, but I found a $20 bill on the ground. Put money aside for possible things like the break actuator and control arms. You may not need it, but it’s good to have a backup. Get anything repaired from an independent shop.
Great advice using the Lexus site to determine service records. I'd only been using it to see what actual factory options they came with. There seems to be several options packages to choose from. Thanks!
