Would you buy a 2010 ls460 with 97k miles?
Hello all, I am looking to make the switch from BMW to Lexus. I am seriously considering purchasing a 2010 LS460 with 97k miles for 25,000. I know the dependability of toyota and have researched the 460 treads on 100k + miles. My only concern would be resell value after a couple of years. I tend to change cars every 2 years. Thats why im looking into older high mileage vehicles because im trying not to lose to much value. My question is, would you pay 25k for this car in good condition or would you spend 7k more and get one with 50-60k miles? Thanks for your opinions.

I bought a CPO with 60K 2007 two years ago for $32. Today they are online for under 25K with a ACV trade in Value of 18K. Mine dropped 400-500 per month in value. You would have to retail it to get out of it in 2 years. You may want to buy a Lexus preowned warranty with it from a Lexus dealer.

Thanks Greg, so about a 5k year loss. Will Lexus sale a warranty on a 97k car? I always thought you had to buy extended warranty before the factory warranty ran out. I really like the 2010 model for the ipod, etc. features

My 2007 RWD has a ipod cable in the console although i have to use the ipod tp control it.
The RWD may be more trouble free as you don't need AWD in Florida.
I was told by my local Lexus dealer a few months ago they would sell me one even if I didn't buy the used car from them. Ask the local finance mgr.

2010LS 460 with 97K
Miles for a four year old vehicle is not overly high, but I would not personally buy a car with that many miles because a warranty is not available from Lexus.

@valley yes i know that mileage isnt terrible for a 2010 which starting Sept 1 it will be considered a 5 year old vehicle. There are no 460's for sale in my city and the dealership is 80 miles away. The cheapest 2010 they have is 35900 with 55k. I was just wondering if the savings is better or mileage. The only complaints I have heard of is the control arm which would only cost me parts because my uncle is a mechanic. And greg yes it is the RWD.

For what it's worth, for under $300 you can add the VIASTECH ipod control to any 2007+ Lexus LS460. It's a breeze, and I have a USB port in my center console. The entire NAV doesn't even need to come out; only the stereo.

If your not trading a car you could buy a CPO LS460 from any dealer in the country and they will ship it to you. Search both Cars.com and AutoTrader.com for Certified and a price range. You could also have it inspected by a third party inspector company.

I did it recently... I bought a 2010 RWD with 82000 miles on it. Paid 27k$.
Since I drive about 10000 miles a year, I figured that the cheap cost of a high mileage unit would even out eventually. Still happy with my decision.

In 2006 I bought a high mileage 2004 LS430 - had 81k on the clock. Sold it 8 years later @ 165k. This time around I bought an older car (2007) with all the options I wanted (exec) with low miles (44k). Instead of getting the higher mileage car, I thought in 5 years I should still be under 100k, which might make it easier to sell.
