2008 LS460 Map update
Does anyone know where or how I can update the map? I have come from BMW where all I needed was a blank DVD and a file. The map I have is annoyingly out of date.
I always hated the Lexus Nav. I would have gladly paid more for a builtin Garmin for my 2010.
But for those that may not know. Try the WAZE app on your cell phone. On a recent trip this worked better for me than my Lexus Nav and Radar Detector combined.

There is a reason Goggle bought out WAZE.
My son was telling me about it for a year before I could be bothered to try it.

I might try Waze again. I gave it a shot a couple of years ago, but it was pretty useless for my commute. There are so many accidents and so much construction that I'm constantly getting warnings, but there's no way to avoid the traffic, so it's not much good to me.
The only way you can update the nav system is through a Lexus dealer. The last I recall is the update costs $159 plus labor. I've read here of dealers charging 2 hours labor, which I believe is just padding the bill. If you decide to have it done, this is a negotiable item.
