Glad to be back!
Greetings all! I was not a really chatty member during the ten years I drove an LS400, but Club Lexus was my home for all things Lexus.
I didn't care much for the LS430 gen, so I switched to a e39 BMW (BOO, and wow) for three years just because I missed shifting. I've been waiting for used LS460L's to come into my (psychological) price range, and the day finally arrived yesterday
2008, NOT air suspension, pretty standard middle of the road otherwise. will be back later hitting the search function aggressively, but for starters, maybe someone can point me to a thread on bad vibration in the driver's door woofer (ML, are there other options?).
Must get to work for now, anxious to see if my heated steering wheel works!

I've had a 91 and still own the 98 and you could not tell me they were not the best thing since sliced bread. Never had any real problems in the 20 years that i owned those 2 cars that were not regular maintenance or user error. I'm hoping that my 460 will hold its own over time.

Congrats on coming back. I saw a 430 yesterday. The car itself didn't look well kept or abused. Just sort of middle of the road. But ... the 430 to me has a very decent look to it. I give it props. I don't know what it is about it, but it looks good. Not 460 good, but good. Looking forward to getting to know you better!

Still getting to know the new (to me) LS460L. Replaced the battery today, as it died while I was replacing an HID bulb last night. Fitment 24 from Wal-Mart was a perfect fit.
My comment that got lost yesterday mostly made a point that my 1999 LS400, which I bought as a CPO in 2004, went almost to 300,000 miles before I sold it after ten years. In all that time the only non-routine maintenance fix it required was to replace the brushes in the starter!!!
I hope the 460 is anywhere near as reliable...

I had my 91 LS400 so long when I would tell people I traded it off they thought I was kidding. They were shocked. I was at my dentist office last month and it was in the parking lot. Inside I met the lady who bought it. Small world.

I had vibration / buzzing in the drivers door speaker on my 2007 LS460L that I purchased recently and it was a bad speaker. I got one on eBay for $75 and popped it in and it sounds great. I originally suspected dried out and cracked suspension because every one of the door speakers and sub in my 2002 LS430 were all cracked up. (The 430 has 272,000 and still going strong. Every button and function works as it should). I replaced the suspension in all the door speakers. I must say that the suspension in speakers of the 460 was in great shape. I even pushed on the bad speaker pretty hard and there were no signs of any cracks. The buzzing was in the coil of the speaker. Easy DIY fix. Door panel comes off in about 10 minutes.

The speaker problem turns out to be mostly a non-issue. One Stevie Ray Vaughn song has a very sustained bass note that would set the driver's door to buzzing. More likely something in the door than the speaker, as other songs I play with thundering bass (check out Praful's "Sigh" cut) don't cause any problem.
Some Classical with massed violins will also cause some momentary harshness in the passenger's side dash mid-range. But mostly, the stereo is fine, excellent even.
