I have a LS460 2007 UK model with I believe gen 5 nav (DVD nav). I would like an MP3 jukebox and maybe also video jukebox functionality. Is it possible to do this with a USB drive and some other mods?
I have a WIndows Phone and generally phones don't have enough storage capacity for video, I know there is the option of the ipod classic with 160gb, but this is an obsolete device that I don't really want to buy into (e.g., video format support is basic).
I'll bring up the topic. There is a USB connector in the armrest, can you watch video on the screen from it? In what format should I record the video? And in general, is it possible to watch videos other than DVD disk on the front screen?
Try it with your iPhone. Look up user manual online. I'm guessing that in 2007, dvd was the only way to play video in a car system. I don't think it will play Blue Ray discs and probably only music on the USB port. Look at home equipment. It uses HDMI plug for video and audio.
Well, try a video with your android. Still check owners manual. Only difference you've revealed is 2011 (12 year old tech) is 4 years newer than 2007. Not really any reason to change my previous logical assumptions on available car technology. Any other differences in what you're looking to do from the Original poster? Installing a Grom Vline would definitely give you the ability to play videos.
