The Compustar ones let you use the factory remote with three clicks of the lock button.

$250-300 ? WOW, ebay $1.00 for the red t-clips.... it's not that hard to do. In fact, compared to others said on here, Pulling the battery and pulling the plugs from the computer one by one is easy to do...

I mean I suck at wiring in cars, I never would even do a car stereo on my older cars but, this was not that bad at all. only 5 wires to connect.

I picked up the ebay one... I didn't want to do it myself, so I tried to call 3-4 places. They all would not touch it for legal reasons.

Are you sure? I was told by a local shop that the factory remote option wouldn't work on the Compustar. Even the Compustar website seems to indicate this.

BB has the compustart CS4202 for $250 including installation so I just snagged one for my LS460L. Curious though for the door auto unlock feature, do you still need the lexus key fob with you?

Lock-lock-lock one is different kit. Yes Lexus original smart key is needed for auto door unlock.

With DBall and a viper smart start - you start/lock/open trunk with your phone and get confirmation of start. Works anywhere there is att mobile service.

I was told that to have it work from the Smart Key I didn't need this model. They have a one way model which you can do the triple lock and it start and stop. I had this in my cart when I read that since I don't want to carry a second fob this really wasn't needed. I got the other model.

I went to talk to the installer. He said the Compustar will work as I expected it to but he said if I buy the DBall they can install it for a 100 bucks and it is all I really needed and I could save a few bucks. I canceled my appointment, thanked him, and plan to buy the DBall.

He said the 199 will do what I needed but I get two remotes I don’t need.

He said the 250 one will do what I needed but if I didn’t want to carry two remotes this again isn’t the one to get since it is money spent on things I would not need.

Anyone have a ebay seller who you all recommend who programs the DBall for a 2014 Lexus?

Anyone use the SmartPhone function added on to it?

Installed the Smart Phone add on. Went in easy i had to call the place i bought it from to activate it because a DIY person cannot needs to be done by a authorized installer.. You pay so much a year. I really have only used it to locate where the car is and you can set up speed warnings and geofencing.

Stilll... $200 vs. $65... the self install was a fairly easy one once you get beyond the fear of what your doing...

I emailed compustart yesterday and they said the 2 way model would indeed keep the touch handles active. Guess I will be asking them again to be certain

What’s the exact DBall Unit I should buy? Is there a different one for 2014? I ask because I see most people who have put it in have cars prior to the model refresh.

Does the self install documented earlier in this post apply to a 2014?

Just got off a call with their support and they said since the kit includes the interface module the lock lock lock will work so we would not need to carry 2 fobs around.

The number for our Tech Support is: 888.820.3690 (dial 9) ext. 203

Cant be 100% sure. The OP did it on his 2010 LS600h, a few others did a newer one, I did it on my 2007. I would read through this whole thread to see if someone claims to have done it on a 2014....

I would assume they are the same at least up to 2012 but, the computer cables cant change too much over all, one would think at least.

Anyone else do it on a 2013+ ?
