That is currently true. But the dball2pro is being discontinued for the DDS 4X10 and DDS5X10

The dball the2pro is about to be discontinued.. i doubt the firmware will work. They now have become known as DDS 4X10 an DDS 5X10...if i read it right the dball2pro shouldn't work...


After more research the dball2pro WILL work with 3x lock start...... but they are being phased out in lieu of the 4x10 an 5x10 which will cost more...

Looks like a inexpensive alternative if you don't need smart start capability via smart phone, unless there is an optional module from Fortin that I didn't see.

 

well i want you guys to have all the available info. so i post everything (within reason) that comes across my desk.. i have a Viper training on the 18th.. so if anyone has any unanswered questions pm me.. and i'll do my best to get solid answers.

fyi.. IMHO... DEI/Viper is still the best option available hands down. i understand why they've made the changes they have..its just better business to not give away sought after products or services for free... but unfortunately that hits a few of us in our pockets.. to anyone who already has a dball/2 with rsr remember its compatible to current models. so if you sell your older lex make sure to take it out......

 

Shibumi.....is this item similar to the dball?
I am a little confused. Can I buy that and it will act the same way essentially that the dball did. I don't really care about the smart phone application, just want OEM start.

I saw where you were able to wire up your trunk so that you could close it as well. I have the Dball2 Pro and Smartstart, would I have the ability to do the same thing with no extra hardware and control via Smartstart? If so could you provide a brief tutorial?

Depending on which smart start u have... yes.. if you have the newer version. Tap the aux 1 output of the smart start and run it to the trunk close trigger (at the control unit on the drivers side of the trunk) but use a relay so it can only be triggered when the trunk is FULLY opened. I use the relay to isolate the signal coming from the front switch to the rear so when the trunk is fully opened the front which now closes the rear as well. tap the wire running to the rear trigger from the Smart Start then you can open and close from your Smart Start as well as the switch up front make sure to go into settings in the SmartStart app and turn on auxiliary 1

 

Thanks for the response. Changing topics, can you or someone tell me where the Z1 connector(where the parking lights wires are found) is located? The notes from the DBALL say at the bar of the steering column but I couldn't readily spot it.

 

Never mind I found it, you have to remove the shroud around the steering wheel to access it. As an FYI the Dball2 pro works great for 3x start with the factory fob. I also installed the Smartstart with GPS function which is a must for me since my factory fob has poor range. As indicated in a previous post, I purchased this pre-configured from Toby Broadfield who was referenced earlier in this thread, he was great to deal with and provided great post sales support.

 

Can someone point me to a link for the GPS module to add to my DBALL? I can't seem to find it.
