The smooth road ride did not change much, that was good already. The big difference is over sharp edged stuff like small potholes and manhole covers. It's much less harsh now. The only bushing that was visibly torn and disintegrating was lower right forward one. I think this is the one that was telegraphing a fair amount of sharp bump harshness into the car.

I paid for all this . My car is well out of warranty. I bought this car in a pass-through transaction from my mother around Christmas of 2013. The factory warranty was timed out in June, 2013. I knew when I bought it that it would need this and a few other things so I'm budgeted for it.

The Armstrong PU bushes installed on the upper control arms started to make some donkey bray 'eek nork' sound driving over road humps.
I have used grease on them liberally prior to installation but I guess this started to wear off recently. The PU bushes were also kind of 'loose' sitting in their control arms such that they 'rotate' a bit too much when the wheels are turned.
Not feeling comfortable and slightly annoyed by the noise, I'd changed them out.
Got them installed on the very day I received them in the mail and the car feels even tighter at the front when going around bends - that was my first impression. It has been almost a week now, no problem whatsoever, I guess I am done with this project.

If I may comment, the general consensus is to stay with oem urethane style bushings. Not polyurethane. The has been documented very well in the 430 and 400 forums. Many who installed the poly's comment on how it ruins the ride and consistently squeaks. This is particularly true for the front.

Purchase of Bushings
I own a 2007 LS 460 Base and I need to change all of the upper and lower control arms bushings. Would like advise on the number of bushings needed for this job and where can I purchase them?

I'm scheduled into my former shop shop foreman's new shop Monday afternoon to replace all eight control arms on my '07. This car has had a slight pull to the right since new so I also got both positive offset upper brackets to raise the camber on the left side and the forward bracket for the right side to raise that caster some. The local Lexus dealer in Austin had all the parts in stock. They gave me net pricing on parts, $2713.28 with tax for all of it. The parts manager there says they sell lots these arms and brackets.
This shop only charges $70/hr. and I'm guessing about 4 hours for this. If all goes well, I'll get the alignment done Tuesday morning. I'll post results in a few days after some driving.

Took the car to a different dealer, and they loosened/retightened the parts with the suspension in it's normal ride height. It seemed to help a little bit, but still looks kind of high to me.
I thought these parts might fix a noise problem that I hear whenever i step on the brakes. It's not a loud noise, but light knocking sound. I replaced pads/rotors as well, still didn't fix light knocking noise i hear when braking at slow speeds.
In trying to fix one problem, it seems like I have a new one now with the front ride height.
I'm open for any suggestions or feedback. I have brought up the brake actuator to their attention, but they say that "it is normal noises"....
Help !!!!!!
