LS460 at Invoice?

yup, per motor trend:
front seatbelts cinch up to the full tight position, the adaptive suspension switches damping to sport mode to aid handling and lessen nose dive, and brake assist gives maximum braking pressure the moment the driver touches the pedal. Lights flash and buzzers sound warnings. And if for some reason the driver doesn't apply the brakes, the system will do it for him.

A front-mounted millimeter-wave radar sensor on the available Pre-Collision System (PCS) [1] constantly monitors the distance and closing speed of a vehicle ahead. When the system's computer determines that a frontal collision is unavoidable, the PCS preemptively tightens the front seatbelts and preps the Brake Assist [2] for increased braking pressure the moment the driver steps on the brake pedal.
...no mention of braking without driver input. Can you link to anything more definitive than Motor Trend? I'd really like to get to the bottom of this issue.

several grands under invoice? i am doubtful on that as well, but i'd love to see which dealership. for 88k car, 76k sounds about invoice and maybe a tad below.
about the pre-collision system, i think it helps to increase the braking force, but for the system to brake itself, somehow i am under the impression that it's ONLY on the cars with advanced pre-collision system, which in the US so far is ONLY on the ls600hl launch edition.
in other countries the advanced system is available, but not in the US. but either way, same here, i don't think it's that much of a deal.

Correct -unlike other dealers Lexus shops don't like to quote/fax - the shops I have spoken to will ony do verbal. So in the end the only way to know if they will honor the below invioce is by buying. Looks like someone in this thread purchased an L for Invoice -- will get yet another data point if the thread starter pulls the trigger. If they had finance specials I'd be more apt to buy now - but at this point I'm leaning towards the December sales event - and possibly look at 09's.

I am 100% sure it's doable, was quoted by 2 dealers directly by the sales manager that many of us have experiences with and not some random sales dude on the floor
if i were you, I wouldn't settle for anything but invoice price

Edmunds shows a $4000 rebate on the LS460L where I am (FL - 32907). Is there a rebate where you are (havent seen aby comments about one)? Just got back from a Lexus event in Miami. Drove the LS460L. It was definitely the smoothest, quietest car I have ever driven. Got a $750 discount coupon also. Has anyone ever used one? I guess I would wait until in the finance managers office and then spring it on them. Does Lexus give the dealer the $750 back ???
