Are you talking about the SmartAccess system? If you are referring to remote start, that's not available in the US.

Keyless start in North America means pushing the Start button with the keyfob on your person, like you've been doing up to now, I presume.

hmmm. tonight trying to find my car in the parking lot i hit unlock several times to flash the lights. I found my car and the engine was running. Either I completely spaced it when I got out of the car and went it to see the movie (2 hours) or i did something to remote start it.

How does the feature work in Japanesse versions?

If you do walk away from the car while running, will the car shut off after a time period?

here in the US there is just no way you can start the car remotely, coz' it needs a special different remote i believe

now assume you forgot to shut off your car before the movie, i don't know if pressing the button on the remote would trigger the turn signals? might worth checking

if you walk away from the car while running, it will not shut off

That's a useful warning feature, I know several LS 430 owners who have left their engines running while at the supermarket.
