Unlocking All Doors While Car is Running
I ran into an annoying issue today. I got in the car and unlocked the driver side by touching the handle. I started the car to get the AC going for a bit before we left. I went to put my son in his car seat, tried to open the RR door with my hand on the handle, nothing; tried the RF door, nothing. I had to walk around to the driver’s door, open it, and press the unlock button to unlock all doors.
Any way around this? I played with the door lock customization settings, but couldn’t get it to work.
Basically, if the car is running and only the driver’s door is unlocked and shut, I want to be able to grab any other door handle and unlock it. The only way I see around that is to set the option where I press the unlock button once on the fob and all doors unlock.

If you keep the key in your pocket the other doors would of unlocked. It's like able to sense it per door. It's weird. But the car will just beep at you to bring the keys back into the car, but it won't shut off.
I don’t believe any of the wireless-electronic-key functions will work when the ignition is ON. So,the question may be: why were your other doors locked? It may be that your car is configured to operate that way and that is something you can change via the customization feature. But it is possible the other doors were locked by the auto-relock. If the auto-relock was responsible then the auto-relock inhibit is the problem and the most likely cause is a defective doorjamb switch on the driver’s door.

I'll just configure it to unlock all doors at once. I believe when I got out of the car while it was running, I kept the fob in my pocket. I remember trying to hit the unlock button on it after the handles didn't work and that didn't work either. At one point, it did that long beep someone mentioned until I went back to the driver door and hit unlock.

I messed with it tonight and realized I have my ES set up to unlock all doors when you walk up to it, not just touch the handle. It didn’t have that issue after I started the car.
I set this one up the same way and it solved the problem. The PO had it as unlock the driver door only, so when I got in and started the car, got out and closed the door, walked around to the other side, it wouldn’t let me in.
Sorry, that should’ve been a captain obvious move.
