Default Better headlight bulbs

My 2004 Ls430 has HID low beam lights but the high beam lights are nowhere near the brightness of the low beams. I think I remember them being 9005 bulbs. What would be a better, brighter bulb to replace the originals?

This will do the trick and give you a more modern DRL look.

From my understanding, a bunch of these new LEDs, while bright and have this white modern looks, their output are not good when placed into the halogen headlight assembly, especially in non-projector. Please make sure if you are installing LED bulbs, you are not blinding others on the road.

I changed the halogen in my Land Cruiser with HIR bulbs and they are very bright.

Thanks, I will look into that. Still trying to decide which way to go to get away from the "orange" look when they are on during daylight driving. When they are on for night driving, they seem to be acceptable, it's just the daytime they look tired. I read somewhere, that the voltage to the lamp is reduced to about 50% for daylight driving. If replacing it with a better 9005, or LED, and the voltage to the lamp is still only 50%, what effect will that have on either of those replacement lamps?

I know that on halogen bulbs, regardless it is 9005 or HIR 9011, when it is running at 50% power, it will cause some deposit to be formed in the glass. After a while it will reduce the amount of lights produced. I checked my bulbs from time to time and changed them as needed. Cheap and easy enough to do. Pics of 9005 from my car, previous owner probably never replace it. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...l#post10237345

Not sure what happened with LED. I have read some of these will not work correctly and blinked rapidly, but I never own one so I do not know.

will that LED bulb have enough clearance behind the headlight? i didn't think there was enough room.

i ended up going with a Wagner brand brilliant vision. it's supposed to have a slightly brighter output than regular halogen bulbs. they are also claiming to have a more white light output as opposed to the normal "yellowish" color. as high beams they work fine. but as DRL, they look just like anything other bulb that was installed.

Now I never use my drl's, I hate the color of them so it's either HID's or OFF. But I was under the understanding that putting anything but halogens on the high beams would make the DRL no longer function as it sends 50% power to the high beams for drl's AND that putting LED's in the high beams would make them flicker when the drl's try to operate?

You need to double check if they will fit. The link I attached are for lamps that are significantly brighter than oem or halogens. They will function properly in drl with my my experience. They run at full. I had them in a different vehicle with the same setup for high beams / 50% drl.

If it’s for the hi beams then this isn’t a problem.

How do you turn your DRLs off?
