New issues - Driver's Headlight and Passenger Lock
Hey Guys,
I wanted to see if you guys had seen these issues before.
1. I have seen a couple times where the drivers HID bulb goes out but it comes back on with a flip to off and then back to on. I have seen this on another car but that was with a mangled repair after an accident. I don't believe this car has been in a major accident.
2. Passenger door lock resists moving from the key fob or the drivers lock switch. I can move it by hand though.
Thanks and have a good day!

1- get a new pair of D2S bulbs, as these bulbs will flicker to indicate that they have met the end of their life time.
2- you might have a faulty ballast. The ones that are equipped in our LS430's are Denso ballasts rated at 35W.
Try the new bulbs, and only get genuine ones, as their copies are all over the Internet. One place I trust to get my lighting needs is called TheRetrofitSource.com
They have genuine D2S bulbs. The OEM color temperature is 4300k. You can choose whichever temp you'd like. The higher you go on the temp, the bluer the light becomes, and also the more you lose visibility.
If you change the bulbs and still have the same problem, then you've got a faulty ballast, and I don't think that'll be your case. As those ballasts live for a long long time. Except if they had a leak and water got inside of them, then you'd face the symptoms you are explaining.
Try the new bulbs first, and if that doesn't work out PM me and I'll get you a good deal on a set of OEM ballasts.

As I mentioned in my post, all those are fake. The internet is smothered with the fake ones.
This is the link to the stock bulbs, and they are 100% genuine. TRS is a very well known supplier. And I buy any lighting equipment from them.

Here are the bulbs I have, they are more blue-ish. But I love them. 6000k

I will swap bulbs first to see if it the ballast or bulb
+1 on the bulbs being the issue. +1 on buying them from TRS. That's where I buy mine
For your door lock issue, it's the motor inside the lock assembly. It's a common issue on older Lexuses it seems. It's a $10 fix, but takes 1-2 hours depending on skill level, according to others. Here is a link to the DIY.
