Old topic, but maybe to someone this info will be a value. I have 01 LS430. Rear tail light bulbs (5w) were replaced by LED bulbs. This of course made the annoying notification on dash about rear taillight failure. I read Yamae's post and decided to try to solder those R81 and R89 resistors. First try was with 1ohm 2512. No luck - rear tail lights did not work at all. The I soldered in 0.3ohm 2512 resistors. And that works! No notification and lights work as they should.
And just a friendly reminder to those who would like to attempt this - if you take out that rear JB ecu, either don't close the trunk or be sure your trunk opens with the key. Don't ask me how I know it...
