That would be my guess too. Sounds like they were tested on Japanese models and maybe not the U.S. version.

Grey boxes..you mean resistors? It's working now without any error codes?
P.S. Could you please post a video of all lights working and turn signals blinking? I couldn't find any video showing these running.

 

Maybe Sam could answer that correct... i think this box is a errorkiller... yeah like a resistor that makes the LED use more power so the car don't think there is a defect because of the low power use...

But im not sure about it!

How are the rear fog lights turned on? Do they turn on when the front fog lights are on? Separate switch?

 

The europe model has a Fog Light on the stock tails.
