Hello LS friends. I just bought a 2004 LS430 about 6 weeks ago and I've run into a few minor problems that might be common. The mirrors turned down in reverse for a week. Now they don't. The telescoping wheel stopped coming down so I took the motor off and set it in a static position and unplugged the up and down motor. Now the wheel won't extend to me automatically unless I adjust the button. It used to automatically extend. (This was after I replaced the battery) The 2 year old battery died. It has an 8 year warranty. I switched the battery out and now the button on the wheel below the volume buttons on the left mutes instead of blast to volume of 40. Why or how does that change?
The car has been sitting for 8 months before I bought it. I hear this has an addition battery reserve for the cabin? Could that have killed the battery?
This is my third LS since 2003. Finally got a 430 and I love it!
Anyone know how to reset that button below the volume on the steering wheel?
Set the volume to the point where you like and then hold down the button for a couple of seconds, don't remember if it will beep or not and then it will be set.
I figured out the set button for volume and yes it beeps. I like it!
The mirror switch is in the left position but the mirrors don't turn down in reverse. They do fold though with the other options with that switch.
Also I should mention that I had a Breathalyzer installed and they had to create a harness under the wheel through the ignition that could be draining the battery and maybe forgot to plug in a wire for the mirror?
