Default What mirror part do I need? -- please help

The passenger mirror on my 2002 LS430 struck something after which caused some of the plastic parts to break off that connect the mirror to the rest of the guts of the mirror. The mirror hung from the housing attached by only few small wires. The outer mirror housing is undamaged. It still retracts when I power down. To fix this problem, does anyone know what part number(s) I need to order?

Check the sewell website for the exploded view of the mirror and part numbers. Order whatever pieces you see broken or buy a used complete mirror from salvage yard and pick what u need.

Thanks. I checked them and now I have this dilemma. Those diagrams do not show the inner mechanical and electrical parts of the mirror. It look like if the outer part of the mirror is OK but a plastic part from the inner workings and from the mirror itself both broke off, I need to spend almost $750. Can t his be right??

Yea 700.00 each is what the whole mirror runs and lexus doesn't even mess with taking them apart if something is broke they just put a whole new assembly on so that could be why it isn't showing in the parts views.

You checked ebay, craigslist and the net and no used one's are coming up at all? Maybe look for a salvaged ls430 that's wrecked for sale and message them if they'll part out anything. I've seen these pop up before.

Thumbs up Exterior Mirror Assembly

If you register with the Sewell site and let them know that you belong to Club Lexus, you can get a good discount on parts. I am going to buy the right side mirror mechanism for about $350. This doesn't include the hyper expensive mirror but it will solve all the mechanical problems with the mechanism.

Thanks for your reply. I am registered with Sewell and have used them in the past. You are not kidding about the hyperexpensive mirror.

Default Lexus Mirror

Bobjann....I, too, have a 2002 LS-430. I am planning to replace my passenger side mirror this summer. The up-down function has ceased to work and it only folds in about 80% of the time. Go to the Sewell Lexus site and register as a member of Club Lexus. When you do that, you will get great discounts on parts. The mirror will cost $329.71 and they stock most of them. You will need to select your color by color code. Shipping will be extra...usually about $15 depending on where you live. This is for the mechanism so be careful not to break the glass. It is $247.34 by itself. I replaced mine last year with a used one I bought for $125. Good luck.

Thanks, Goldmax60. So, the the housing (the part for which you have to choose a color) contains the motors but it does not include the actual mirror itself. You have to buy the mirror as a separate purchase. Am I correct?
